In what sense are these "languages"? Apart from regex notation, they all seem too simple to merit the term.

Oh I get it now: Clojure is cool because it has these kinds of mini languages, but CL is big, bloated, ugly and eats children because it has loop and format.

Who is this addressed to? The author of the post? Since I know him very well, I will say that he does not view CL as the eater of children. In fact, I... errr... he likes CL very much.

I don't consider format that extensive... unless format really is massive and I need to poke deeper into CLTL.
